Contest Rules

  1. Participant must choose one topic to create a unique expression of what the topic means to him/her.

  2. Each entry must be the original work of the participant and only one entry is permitted per person.

  3. Participant must complete the entry form and acknowledgement of the contest rules.

  4. Participant must be a Plano resident.

  5. All entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. on March 16, 2022.


An email confirmation will be sent acknowledging receipt of an entry.



Literary Requirements:

  • Essay and poetry submissions are limited to a maximum of 500 words or less, double-spaced, 11” font and on 8 ½ x 11’ paper.

  • Any quotes or outside sources must be identified in the submission.

  • Oral poetry and spoken words must be submitted in a video.  The file must not exceed 5 minutes and 1 GB in size.  Acceptable formats include MOV and MP4.

  • TikTok submissions are acceptable.  Share the link to have your entry included.



Artwork Requirements:

  • Accepted forms of artwork include but are not limited to, drawings, paintings, or sculptures.

  • Drawings and paintings must be on 8 ½ x 11” paper or larger.

  • All artwork must be photographed with a solid color background (e.g. white or black) and must be visible in its entirety in the picture.  (Close up pictures are preferred for art details to be observed.)

  • Jpeg format is preferred.

  • If artwork cannot be photographed delivery of entry can be made.  Please email us with details.
